BT Sport Video playlist

With the array of video content produced and created over the years BT has always been one of the biggest sporting content hubs in the UK, the issue for many users has been way finding, discovery and surfacing the content . This major project involved many stakeholders across the BT environment along with two significant considerations

1. The technology platform in which the current player was built and what features/functionality would currently be available and what might be available at a ‘stretch’

2. The upcoming merger of BT Sport and discovery and how that may effect the delivery and amount of content.

 

As the sole product designer my job was to design, manage and strategise on the product design and delivery, part of this role involved understanding user needs and develop the logic behind current playlist integration and what new playlists may need to be created, as well as content surfacing. Creating workshops making sure business requirements were fully visible. Introducing moments of delight such as dynamic content related backgrounds that fade out when the user is engaged in content to evoke a cinematic feel where experiencing the content becomes the sole focus.
